The Vitalize Peel requires one or more treatment sessions to produce results. The number of treatments you need depends on several factors, including your skin's condition, your skin type and the type of Vitalize Peel you want to have performed. Preparation for all of the Vitalize procedures is the same.
- Attend a free consultation
Schedule a free consultation with an aesthetician prior to beginning the Vitalize Peel treatments to discuss your medical history and other issues that can impact the procedure or your health.
- Discuss your expectations for the procedure
Once the aesthetician has gathered your medical history and assessed your skin, discuss what you can expect during treatment, how many treatments are necessary and potential side effects.
- Prepare your skin for treatment
Start conditioning your skin six weeks prior to beginning the treatment. Having soft, conditioned skin helps to speed up the healing process, promotes cell function and minimizes skin irritation.
- Begin antiviral therapy
Begin taking antiviral therapy medications one day before your first treatment, and continue taking them seven to 10 days after the treatment to prevent infection.
- Stop using harsh facial treatments
During the six-week pre-conditioning phase, stop using harsh products such as exfoliating treatments on your skin.
- Protect your skin from the sun
Avoid sun exposure or tanning before your peel, as skin that is too tan cannot be treated effectively.
