To shine boots, use a shoe polishing kit designed for the type of material used in the boot's construction. Boot leather requires the same protection as shoe leather.
Before shining boots, make sure they are clean. Use a shoe brush to remove large bits of dirt, and wipe them with a damp cloth or shoe wipes to remove particulate matter.
Step 1: Apply the polish
Put a quarter-sized drop of shoe polish on a soft cloth, and use a circular motion with light pressure to work it into the leather. Allow it to dry.
Step 2: Buff the boots
With another soft cloth, using a circular motion and medium pressure, remove the dry polish. If the boots do not shine, repeat the process.
