To grow a mullet, an individual can grow the hair to the desired length and then have it cut and styled by a professional, or have the front, top and sides cut short, leaving the back long. The person can then continue to get trims while allowing the hair to grow into a mullet of the desired length. The main problem with letting the hair grow into a mullet is the stage where the style looks awkward: not long enough to really be a mullet and too short to be a regular style.
A mullet is more of a lifestyle than just a hair cut. The ones who usually sport this style are very unique and full of confidence. The mullet hair style has been around since the early 1970s, where Florence Henderson wore a mullet in 'The Brady Bunch', but the 1980s was when the hairstyle really caught on
There are two styles of the mullet, the classic and the ponytail.
- The classic mullet The classic mullet is worn with the hair down. It offers a business style short cut in the front and sides with long hair in the back. This style looks great with wavy or curly hair.
The ponytail mullet
The ponytail mullet offers the same cut as the classic, but is worn with hair pulled back into a ponytail. The long hair is not noticeable at all from the front and looks best with straight hair.
