To get pale skin, use home remedies, such as a milk bath or a yogurt mask, to lighten the skin. If more lightening is needed, switch to an over-the counter cream. Use sunscreen daily.
- Prepare a milk bath
After taking a warm bath or shower, pour 2 cups of cow or goat milk into a microwave-safe bowl. Warm the milk until it is tepid.
- Bathe in the milk
Soak a wash cloth in the milk, and wring the excess fluid from the cloth. Rub your skin with this cloth. Repeat soaking the cloth and rubbing the milk over your skin until you have gone over the area three to four times. Repeat this process every day after taking a bath.
- Make a yogurt mask
Yogurt is even more effective than milk for lightening skin, so make a yogurt mask if the milk doesn't give the desired result in two weeks. Mix plain yogurt with lemon juice, honey and oatmeal until you get a paste.
- Use the yogurt mask
Apply the mask to your skin, rubbing slightly. Leave this mask on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Either replace the milk bath with this procedure, or do the yogurt mask in the morning and the milk bath at night.
- Try skin-lightening cream
Over-the-counter skin lighteners often work more quickly than home remedies. Look for a skin-lightening cream that contains hydroquinone. Use daily as directed by the box. Apply sunscreen to keep skin light.
