Frown lines are actually forehead wrinkles, and the most common way to eliminate them is through the use of a muscle relaxer such as Botox. Exceptionally deep or thick frown lines may need to have a dermal filler injected into them in order to be removed.
Frown lines, or more properly glabellar lines, are among the most common wrinkles that appear on the forehead. They do not always have to come from frowning; they can also be caused by furrowing the brows, and they are nearly always the result of too much sun on the skin. Sun damage to the skin is one of the top causes of wrinkles and can create wrinkles at an early age.
While there is no way to completely avoid damage from the sun, it is a good idea to limit exposure to harmful rays and wear sunscreen on one's face. Sunscreen protects the face from UV rays whether it is sunny or cloudy out, and it also helps shield the collagen and elastin in the skin. These proteins keep skin strong and firm, and by keeping them intact, instances of wrinkles appearing on the forehead and in between the eyebrows are significantly reduced.
