An olive skin tone is a human skin color that is considered a neutral-type complexion. It is comprised of both warm and cool undertones, such as green and yellow. According to the Fitzpatrick skin type classification, people with olive skin are usually of Asian, Mediterranean, Latin and African descent.
A person with an olive skin tone normally has hazel or brown eyes and dark brown to black hair. However, people of mixed ethnic backgrounds may have another hair or eye color. The olive skin tone rarely burns and easily tans to a moderately brown color. While people with olive skin tones are only moderately at risk of sun-induced skin problems, they should still be careful because skin diseases, such as melanoma, are still possible to develop.
