According to plastic surgeons Payman Solieman and Jason Litner, the Nose Huggie is not a viable alternative to a rhinoplasty, or nose job, performed by plastic surgeons. The Nose Huggie does not work because the nose is made of cartilage, which cannot be molded.
The Nose Huggie is a clip applied to the nose for 15 minutes a day with the intention of slimming the nose. Its marketers claim that use of the Nose Huggie for two weeks makes the nose appear thinner, straighter and smaller because of the malleability of the nose's cartilage. While non-surgical approaches to rhinoplasty exist, specifically injection rhinoplasty, the cartilage of the nose cannot be permanently reshaped by a Nose Huggie.
