How Do You Get Natural Highlights?

To promote natural hair highlights, create a solution of lemon juice, chamomile tea, cinnamon and honey. Spray your hair with this solution after showering and before enjoying direct sunlight.

  1. Brew the tea

Pour 1 cup of boiling hot water over one chamomile tea bag. Allow the tea to steep for five minutes.

  2. Combine the ingredients

In a spray bottle, combine 1/2 cup of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of honey. Pour the freshly brewed tea over the ingredients. Secure the spray bottle lid, and shake until the honey is fully dissolved.

  3. Wash and dry your hair

Wash your hair with your favorite shampoo. With a towel, squeeze your hair dry. Do not use a hair dryer.

  4. Spray your hair

Once your hair is mostly dry, spray your entire head with the solution. Concentrate the application to areas you wish to naturally highlight.

  5. Brush your hair

With a fine-toothed comb, brush your hair to distribute the lightening mixture.

  6. Dry your hair

Allow the solution to naturally dry. Do not use a blow dryer.

  7. Style as normal

Once your hair is dry enough, style as normal.

  8. Reapply before going outside

Lightly spray your hair before spending significant time in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight expedites the hair lightening qualities of the ingredients.
