You can moisturize your skin overnight using water and cleansers that support skin and pore health. Each day takes a toll on your skin, with makeup, pollution and other environmental factors all drying out your skin. Moisturizing overnight can make a big difference in keeping skin hydrated, smooth and healthy.
Wash with warm water and a non-soap cleanser
Avoid hot water when preparing to moisturize overnight, as it can remove skin oils that help retain moisture. Wash with warm water using a cleanser free from soap and all artificial dyes and fragrances. Pat your face dry, leaving some moisture on the skin.
Apply a rich moisturizer
Apply skin moisturizer that contains ingredients such as collagen, elastin, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil and vitamin E. If the skin is especially dry or cracked, use petroleum jelly as a moisturizer.
Use a humidifier
Run a humidifier while you sleep to keep the moisture level of your bedroom air between 30 and 50 percent. Make sure to change the humidifier's water every day.
