Milk, combined with a little honey, is a good conditioner for dry, fragile hair. It is especially useful on fine or thin hair that becomes weighed down by commercial conditioners and treatments. Cream or whole milk works best on coarse hair, while fine hair responds to low-fat or skim milk.

Prepare the conditioner by thoroughly combining 2 cups of warm milk or cream with 2 teaspoons of honey. If low-fat or nonfat milk is used, 1 teaspoon of flour should be added. Apply the mixture to the hair and massage gently into all strands. Place a shower cap on the head for 15 to 20 minutes. After this, rinse out the milky conditioner, and shampoo the hair.
