To make a tiger costume, simply sew or glue orange and black stripes onto a black sweatsuit and make a tail out of black felt. Creative tiger face paint adds the perfect touch to the outfit, or one can choose to wear a mask.
A tiger costume is one of the easiest to make. The only supplies required are black sweatpants, a black sweatshirt, felt (in orange, white and black), scissors, batting and a needle and thread or fabric glue.
Step 1: Cut the felt pieces
Cut an oval from the white piece of felt for the tiger's white stomach. Then, cut tiger stripes from the orange and black felt.
Step 2: Attach the oval and the stripes
First, attach the white oval to the front of the sweatshirt either by sewing it on, or with fabric glue. Then, using the same method, attach the orange and black stripes to the shirt, slightly overlapping the white oval. Wrap orange and black stripes around the arms of the shirt and legs of the sweatpants with needle and thread or fabric glue.
Step 3: Make the tail
Cut a long piece of black felt, measuring approximately 24 inches long and 5 inches wide. Stitch the sides and one end together to make a tube. Stuff with batting and attach the tail to the seat of the sweatpants.
