How Do I Make a Pore-Minimizing Facial Steam?

Steaming your face does not minimize your pores on its own, but it is an important first step in the pore-minimizing process. In fact, steaming actually opens up the pores on your face, allowing them to release dirt and impurities. Follow up a steaming treatment with a facial mask designed to minimize your pores.

  1. Boil the water

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Remove it from the heat. Be careful to avoid hot water burns as you set it on a heatproof counter.

  2. Place a towel over your head for steaming

Place a towel on your head and lean over the hot steam, using the towel to direct the steam toward your face. Let the steam infuse your pores for five to 10 minutes. When finished, rinse your face with warm water and pat it dry.

  3. Use a pore-minimizing mask

Mix together 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, two egg whites and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Slather this on the areas of your face where you want to minimize pores. The mixture does not smell appetizing. Leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes. Wash off the mask with warm water, then apply witch hazel to any remaining large pores.
