To get rid of pimples, reduce the swelling and redness before applying a spot treatment. Use acne-fighting face wash, apply a baking soda mask, and express blemishes with cotton swabs. Heal the expressed pimple with honey.
- Reduce the swelling with ice
As soon as the pimple starts swelling, apply an ice pack. Wrap ice cubes in a towel, and hold it to the pimple for a minimum of 5 minutes. Repeat this throughout the day until the swelling goes down.
- Place eye drops on the pimple
Look for eye drops that advertise they remove redness. After applying ice, drip the eye drops directly onto the pimple to reduce the redness.
- Apply a spot treatment
Find blemish treatments that contain either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, both of which dry out pimples. Apply a thin coating directly to the pimples in the morning.
- Wash your face with oil-free cleanser
In the evening, wash your face with an oil-free, acne-fighting cleanser. Look for cleansers with salicylic acid or tea tree oil for maximum benefit.
- Use a baking soda mask
Make a paste out of baking soda and lemon juice. Apply this paste directly to the blemishes, and leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water to keep the swelling down.
- Express with cotton swabs
When a white head appears on the top of a pimple, use two cotton swabs to express the pimple.
- Heal with honey
After expressing a pimple, apply a thin coating of honey to promote healing.
