Depending on the length of the infant's hair, make infant hair accessories by crocheting, knitting or crafting. One main concern about making infant hair accessories is that the item does not stay in well. Make It & Love It explains that the key to this craft is making a no-slip addition to the item.
Make It & Love It offers an example of a baby hair accessory crafting project that creates a simple yet cute baby hair clip. First, cut an 3/8-inch piece of ribbon. Cut three pieces that are each 4 inches long. Use a double prong hair clip that is about 1 3/4 inches long. Use shelf liner to create a no-slip grip on the bow. Cut the shelf liner to the same size as the clip. It should be about 1 1/4 inch by 1/3 inch in size. Cut a piece of felt that is about the same size, as well. Heat seal the ribbon at the end by using a lighter. Then, glue about 1/2 inch of the ribbon to the end of the clip with a hot glue gun. Then, put a strip of hot glue on about 1 inch of the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the part of the clip that pinches together, and cut the ribbon as necessary. Then, heat seal it, and glue it down. Tie a knot into one of the extra pieces of ribbon. Layer the three, and glue it to the clip. Finally, glue the felt inside the clip.
