To make a homemade facial scrub, cut a fresh pineapple and papaya into cubes, discard the pineapple's hard stems, and mash 1/4 cup pineapple cubes and 1/4 cup papaya cubes. Mix the mashed ingredients with 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil and 1 tablespoon manuka honey. Use plain honey if manuka honey is not available.
Another homemade facial scrub involves peeling and pureeing one ripe, organic peach in a food processor or blender. Add a small amount of water as needed. Place the pureed peaches in a bowl, and mix in 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon raw organic honey, and 1/2 tablespoon olive, almond or coconut oil. Adjust the amount of sugar according to your preference, and heat the honey in the microwave to make it more fluid.
To apply the pineapple and papaya facial scrub, gently rub it on your face and let it dry for several minutes. Wash your face with warm water, and put a warm washcloth on your skin.
To apply the peach facial scrub, rub it in circular motions on your face and neck, and leave the scrub on for five minutes. Wash with a warm washcloth, and put some moisturizer on scrubbed areas afterward. Use any of these homemade scrubs one to two times per week to rejuvenate your skin.
