How Do You Make Your Hair Look Thicker?

To make your hair look thicker, wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner, apply a styling mousse, and blow dry your hair with a round brush. To maintain the thicker look, sleep with your hair in a high ponytail, or apply a dry shampoo the next morning.

  1. Wash and condition your hair

Wet your hair thoroughly, and wash it with a volumizing shampoo. Rinse out the shampoo, then apply conditioner from the tips to the roots. If you do not want to heat-style your hair, use a lightweight conditioner, and apply it only on the roots to avoid weighing your hair down. Let your hair air dry into a natural wave.

  2. Apply a styling product

Spray a small amount of volumizing mousse into your hands, and work the product through your hair strands.

  3. Blow dry your hair

Turn your head upside down, and quickly dry the roots of your hair. Turn the head upwards, and divide your hair into several sections. Start at the front of the head, and wrap a couple of inches of hair around a round brush. Concentrate the heat at the roots. While holding the dryer at a 90-degree angle, slowly pull the brush away from the head, drying as you go. Continue drying small sections until the whole head is complete.

  4. Maintain the style

To help keep the volume, sleep with your hair in a high ponytail, and let it loose each morning.
