To keep your hair straight overnight, wrap your hair flat around your head, securing with bobby pins as you go. Tie a silk or satin scarf around your head to protect your hair as you sleep.
- Comb or brush your hair
It is important to remove tangles to make it easier to pin your hair back. This also helps to spread the natural oils of your hair. Don't over-brush your hair, as it can cause static and make your hair harder to manage.
- Start pinning your hair
Starting at your ear, pin your hair flat on your head. Gently work your way around until all of your hair is contained, pinning as you go. Use as many pins as you need to control your hair. Be careful not to twist your hair, as doing so causes kinks or curls to form overnight.
- Tie a silky scarf on your head
Tie a scarf made of satin or silk on your head to protect your hair. Silk is frictionless, so it won't create frizz or pull at your hair. Satin mimics silk, so it is an acceptable alternative. If you prefer to not wear a headscarf to bed, you can buy a silk or satin pillowcase. Cotton pillowcases create friction, causing your hair to tangle.
