Jetboots is a wearable piece of military equipment that has a powerful jet propulsion system and is worn around the waist. Made by Virginia-based military equipment manufacturer Patriot3, Jetboots is used by military divers such as Navy SEALS to improve their mobility in water.
Military divers use Jetboots to assist them in military operations such as reconnaissance over water, sea patrols, search-and-rescue missions at sea and underwater ship inspections. As Jetboots is compatible with standard military diving gear, divers may wear Jetboots while riding military seaborne vehicles, deploying from a helicopter or parachuting. Jetboots can be operated hands-free, allowing divers to perform other tasks with both hands, a feature that makes the device handy during open-water and swift-water rescues.
The device's jet propulsion system uses quiet, brushless motors that are powered by hot-swappable lithium-ion batteries. The device is approved by the U.S. Department of Defense.
