For several decades after its founding in 1972, Early Winters sold outdoor adventure clothing, climbing gear and camping equipment. One of its first flagship products was the Omnipotent Tent, an ultra-durable tent designed to withstand extreme weather conditions without ripping or collapsing.
In 1976, the company marketed the first commercial parka made with Gore-Tex, a durable, waterproof fabric that was new at the time. Early Winters produced a Gore-Tex camping tent, the Light Dimension, later that year. The Norm Thompson Group purchased Early Winters in 2004, renaming it Sahalie. The new name means "high and lofty place" in the Chinook language.
Sahalie no longer sells camping and wilderness equipment. Instead, it offers an extensive selection of ladies' fashion products inspired by the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Sahalie products promote fashionable comfort and an active lifestyle.
The company has a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. It prints its catalogs on recycled paper and features products made with organic materials and sustainable manufacturing processes.Learn more about Clothing
