About.com recommends mixing 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 2 tablespoons of flour and a few drops of honey together to create a skin lightening paste. If one has oily skin, 1/4 cup of plain yogurt and a few drops of lemon should be added to the mixture; 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, olive oil or sweet almond oil should be added to the mixture instead of lemon juice and yogurt if one has dry skin. This mixture is then placed on the face and neck for at least 15 minutes and removed with warm water and a washcloth.
