To create a high ponytail, add texture to the hair, pull your hair up towards the crown of your head, brush out any bumps and secure it in position with an elastic band. Tease the ponytail and tame any flyaway strands using a toothbrush and hairspray.

  1. Create texture in your hair

Add hairspray or dry shampoo to your hair to create texture to help your ponytail to stay in place all day.

  2. Pull your hair up

Pull your hair up towards the crown of your head, positioning the ponytail higher than you normally would. The ponytail should be at the center of your head and visible from the front.

Hold the ponytail in place with one hand and use your other hand to brush out any bumps to ensure that you have a smooth ponytail.

  4. Secure the ponytail in place

Use your hair elastic to secure the ponytail into place. Take a 1 inch section of hair from the underside of your ponytail and wrap it around the hair elastic. Push a bobby pin in on the underside of the hair elastic hold the covering hair in place.

  5. Tease the ponytail

Tease the ponytail with a fine-tooth comb and gently comb hair upward and toward the front for added volume and texture.

  6. Tame flyaway strands

Spray hairspray on a toothbrush and use it to brush down any flyaway hairs.
