Remove hair dye from your scalp by applying hydrogen peroxide, then shampooing and conditioning your hair. This 10-minute procedure requires a wide-toothed plastic comb, hair clips, hydrogen peroxide, latex gloves, cotton swabs, a mirror, sulfate-free shampoo and hair conditioner.
- Prepare your hair and supplies
Set your supplies out in a well-lit bathroom with a large mirror. Comb your hair, separate it into several sections and fasten the sections with hair clips. This makes it easier to see the scalp.
- Apply hydrogen peroxide
Put on latex gloves, and dunk several cotton swabs in a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Wipe them on the bottle's neck to remove excess peroxide, and carefully rub your scalp stains with the swabs. Do not allow the peroxide to touch your hair. Treat one section of your scalp at a time, repositioning the hair clips when you move to a new area.
- Shampoo and condition your hair
Discard the swabs and latex gloves. Wet your hair with lukewarm water, and wash it with a sulfate-free shampoo for color-treated hair. Massage the shampoo into your scalp for five minutes, and then rinse your hair. Apply a nourishing conditioner, and rinse with cool water. Dry and style your hair as usual.
