Three ways to grow eyelashes naturally are using castor oil, using a coconut and lavender oil mix, and massaging the eyelids, according to HeathExtremist.com. Use these ingredients and methods a few times a week for one to three months to see visible results.
Castor oil grows lashes, hair and eyebrows. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as essential nutrients that stimulate hair growth. Hexane-free brands of castor oil are all natural and more eye friendly. To use for lash growth, wash the eye area until it is clean of make-up or lotion. Using a finger or cotton swab, apply a few drops of the castor oil from the roots to the tips of the eyelashes. This step is repeated a few times a week.
Lavender oil fights free radicals and can increase hair growth by 44 percent. Coconut oil is a carrier oil and is soothing, full of nutrients and has antibacterial properties. When a 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil is mixed with 2 to 4 drops of lavender essential oil, it becomes a great elixir to apply to eyelashes. The elixir is applied the same way as the castor oil, and with the same frequency.
Eyelid massage increases blood flow and circulation, and this encourages lashes to grow. To use this method, use clean fingers and gently massage the eyelid area along the lashes. This should be repeated once a day for best results. This works on hair when you massage the scalp, as well.
