To grow healthy hair, start by cutting off all split ends and massaging the scalp with oil once a week. Use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, replacing the latter with mashed avocado every other week. Dry and comb your wet hair gently, and take supplements that promote hair growth.
- Trim your hair
Start by getting all the split ends trimmed off. Trim the hair lightly every six to eight weeks.
- Massage the scalp with oil
Massage stimulates circulation, which promotes healthy hair. Once a week, mix castor oil with a few drops of tea tree oil. Apply the oil to the scalp, and massage for at least five minutes. Leave the oil in your hair for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Use moisturizing shampoo
Use a moisturizing shampoo to wash the oil out of your hair. If the hair breaks easily, look for a shampoo that promotes hair strength.
- Condition your hair
Work a moisturizing or strengthening conditioner into the hair from the ends up. Leave it in for five minutes, and rinse with cool water. On a day that you do not massage the scalp with oil, replace the conditioner with mashed avocado pulp.
- Treat your wet hair gently
Use a microfiber cloth to squeeze excess water from your hair. Do not rub your hair with a terrycloth towel, as this causes damage. Comb out tangles from the ends up, and allow the hair to air dry.
- Take a multivitamin
Take a multivitamin that promotes hair health.
