To achieve an emo look, begin with a foundation. Use blush on the cheeks that is more pinkish than the skin tone. Avoid contouring the face. With a matte finish slate eye shadow, add shadow around the eyes' outer edges. Finally, use a nude, pinkish liner on the lips.
Before applying the base, begin with the primer, which holds the foundation into place. Use a stick-based concealer to hide blemishes. Apply the foundation as normal. In order to achieve a pale, Gothic look, the blush should not be peachy or bronze in tone
After the eye shadow, use an eyeliner on the lash line, and extend from the edges on both sides of the eye to pull off a wing-like effect on each side. Use a sponge applicator on the top lashes to smudge the lining. Apply liquid eyeliner on the lash lining to pull off a smooth look, and place dark lining on the lower lash line.
