How Do You Do a Facial?

To do a facial, cleanse your face, make and apply an exfoliating scrub and rinse off the mixture. Steam your skin with a teapot infusion, apply moisturizer and massage your face.

  1. Cleanse your face

Use the correct cleanser for your skin type to remove oil and dirt. Dampen a cotton ball with eye makeup remover for the eye area. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.

  2. Make a scrub

Make an orange scrub by combining 3 teaspoons of fresh orange juice with 2 teaspoons of oats. For sensitive skin, mix 1/4 cup of watermelon juice with 3 teaspoons of gram flour.

  3. Apply the scrub

Place the scrub on your fingertips and emulsify it. Apply the scrub to the face using circular motions. Let the scrub stay on the face for five minutes and rinse with warm water.

  4. Make a teapot steam

Heat 4 cups of distilled water to boiling in a teapot. Remove the teapot from the heat. Add lavender, rosemary, rose petals and essential oils to the water. Let it steep for several minutes.

  5. Steam your face

Place the teapot on a low table. Create a tent with a large towel, and bend over the steam coming from the teapot. Allow the steam to penetrate your skin for 10 minutes.

  6. Apply a face mask

Apply a face mask appropriate for your skin type. Use a clay mask for oily skin or cream mask for dry. Let the mask sit for 10 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

  7. Massage with a moisturizer

Emulsify the appropriate moisturizer in your fingertips. Using a circular motion, massage your face with the pads of your fingers for 5 minutes. Leave the moisturizer on the face.
