Endless was an online-only retailer that specialized in shoes, handbags and accessories for men, women and children. Endless was launched in December 2006 as a wholly owned subsidiary created by Amazon as a separate e-commerce brand.
Endless found favor with consumers because it offered free overnight shipping on most items, sales on many items and free return shipping. According to Desiree Stimpert for About.com, navigation of the website was unique and somewhat confusing at first, because many times a menu would force a shopper to choose a specific style before searching for a broad category of footwear. Ultimately, Amazon decided to close Endless on Sept. 27, 2012, and redirect shoppers to the Amazon retail site.
