Chewing gum may be removed from hair by using household products such as olive oil. The oil will make the gum easier to remove.
There are many items that are found normally in the pantry that can be used to take chewing gum out of hair. One of these is peanut butter. Use the following steps to remove it:
- It is important to cover the whole affected area with the peanut butter.
- Wait a few minutes to let the peanut butter do its work.
- Pull the gum out carefully and wash the hair thoroughly.
Avoid the messiness of putting oils in hair by using ice. Hold a piece of ice on the gum until it becomes hard. This process can take about 20 minutes. After this, it should be easy to just pull the gum right out. Putting canola oil in before trying the ice trick will make it even easier to remove. Egg whites also will work well with this if massaged into the area and washed out after 10 minutes. It will not be necessary to cut the hair unless it is an extreme situation.
Getting gum in the eyelashes or eyebrows can be frustrating and worrisome, but there is a way to remove it quickly and fairly easily. Using vegetable oil is particularly good for this purpose.
