Several shoe companies provide customization options online, such as Nike, Vans, Converse, Reebok and Adidas. These companies allow customers to design features such as the colors, patterns, stitching and body shape of shoes before making a purchase.
Through NikeID, a service offered by Nike, customers can design their own shoes by selecting customization options on several products. Uppers, laces and tongue tops can be personalized through color choices, and the option to add a name, date or inspiring message to the shoes is available.
Vans Custom Shoes lets customers select from one of several shoe styles for customization. A combination of colors and patterns can be chosen for different parts of the shoe, including the binding, tongue, vamp and quarter.
Converse has a design-your-own-shoe option called Converse Blank Canvas. Colors and print patterns can be selected for each shoe element, including the outer body, heel stripe, inner lining, eyelet, lace and stitch. It takes two to three weeks for Converse to deliver custom sneakers.
Reebok provides a similar service called Your Reebok. A variety of men's, women's and children's styles can be customized through choices in prints, materials and colors. The step-by-step process is fully interactive.
Adidas enables customization of a few of its styles, including laceless slip-ons. Everything from the collar to the heelcage can be personalized. An optional heel strap with personalized wording can be added as well.
