Some curly hairstyles for black women include the semi-pompadour and faux hawk. These are styles that emphasize the curl texture in the front of the hair or showcase the curls in the middle of the head.
For the faux hawk, the hair on the sides can be smoothed and brushed toward the middle of the head. The hair in the center of the head can be held in place with a banana clip or hair pins. Another option is to braid or twist the sides of the hair to add more texture to the curly style. Black women with relaxed hair can also wear their hair in loose ringlets or layered curls that fall frame the face. A black woman with natural hair may wear her curls in an Afro style, or she may wear it parted on the side or middle to accentuate the shape of the face. Curly hair can also be worn on the top or middle of the head in a messy bun. The hair can also be parted in the middle and formed into a series of small spiral curls. A high ponytail that features round or spiral curls can also be worn by black women. This style can be accomplished with or without bangs.
