To curl hair with rollers, first choose the correct roller size. Use smaller rollers for defined curls and larger rollers to create waves and add body and volume. You need hair rollers, hair mousse, a blow-dryer and hairspray.
- Apply products, and section hair
Apply styling mousse to damp, towel-dried hair. If you wish to have a part in your finished style, create it now. Divide the hair into three sections: a crown section and two side portions.
- Roller set the hair
Roll up the hair in the crown section first, working from the front of the section closest to your forehead to the back of the section. Roll small sections of hair, with the base of the section no wider than the diameter of the roller. You may wish to use different roller sizes to create interesting curls. After rolling up the crown section, roll up the sides in the same manner, rolling from front to back.
- Dry the hair
After the hair is rolled up, use a blow-dryer to dry the hair completely. Unrolling the hair while damp results in a frizzy curl pattern. Allow the hair to cool before removing the rollers. Use hairspray to help curls retain their shape for a longer period of time.
