To contour your face, apply highlighting makeup to your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and center of your forehead. Apply darker makeup to your hairline, jaw line, the sides of your nose and your temples. This 10-minute process requires highlighting makeup, contouring powder, makeup brushes, cosmetic sponges and a mirror.
- Apply the highlights
Dab liquid highlighting makeup beneath your eyes, on the bridge of your nose, on the upper half of your cheekbones and in the middle of your forehead. Use a flat foundation brush to distribute and blend the makeup.
- Apply contouring powder
Swirl an angled contouring brush in contouring powder that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone. Apply the powder on the lower half of your cheekbones, the sides of your nose, your temples, your jaw line, your hairline and the cleft of your chin.
- Blend the highlighter and contouring powder
Sweep a large, fluffy brush over the face to blend the highlights and contoured areas. Use very light, circular motions.
- Polish the look with a wet cosmetic sponge
Dip a new cosmetic sponge into warm water, and wring it out. Tap the sponge over any streaks, uneven areas or harsh lines. To keep the rest of your makeup in place, dab gently, and do not pull or rub the sponge over the skin.
