Hair is considered a long length once it passes the shoulder blades on an individual. Long hair can be very easy to manage and style if cared for properly.
Once hair is grown to a long length, there are many different terms used to identify the style and length of hair. Collarbone length hair touches the collarbone on the front of an individual, but does not touch the shoulder blades on the back of an individual. Armpit length hair meets the armpit on either the front or the back of an individual. Mid-back length hair is any length meeting at least the bra line on a female, and continues to the waist. Some individuals have waist-length hair or longer, but this length of hair is often hard to manage and adds considerable strain on an individuals neck due to its weight.
