There are no rules for which colors cannot be paired with green. While there are general guidelines about which colors usually go well with green, whether a combination is good or bad depends on the observer's taste.
According to color theory, colors which are directly opposite to each other are said to be complementary colors. These colors are said to clash, but such a high contrast can actually work really well. In the traditional color model, the complement of green was red, but in newer models, the color that is directly opposite of green on the color wheel is magenta.
