Emphasize the eyebrows and lips in a full face of makeup for a chola look. Applying chola makeup takes 20 to 30 minutes and requires foundation, powder, eyebrow liner, eye shadow, eyeliner, blush, lip liner and lipstick.
- Apply the foundation
Apply foundation over the whole face and across the jaw line using a makeup sponge or your fingertips. Use corrector to conceal any blemishes. Set the foundation with loose powder.
- Sculpt the cheekbones
Use bronzer or a dark shade of blush under the cheekbones. Apply red-based blush to the apples of the cheeks, and finish with a highlighter across the bone.
- Shape the eyebrows
The eyebrows distinguish the chola look. Pluck the eyebrows so that they are thin and arched. Use a dark brow pencil to define them to create a thin, highly-arched line.
- Define the eyes
Apply a neutral eye shadow from the lash line to the brow bone. Highlight under the eyebrow with a light color. Apply a darker color in the crease, and draw it out at the corners. Use a black eye pencil to line both the upper and lower eyelids, drawing the line out at the outer corners. Use black liquid liner to sharpen the line. Apply two coats of mascara.
- Line and color the lips
The other distinctive characteristic of chola makeup is the lip design. Use a dark burgundy or chocolate brown lip liner to line the entire lips. Create sharp points at the brows. Use a pink or brown-based lip color that is at least three shades lighter.
