You can get rid of smelly feet by washing your feet every day with mild soap, changing socks and shoes daily, and using foot powder or baby powder, and an anti-fungal foot spray. The feet contain more sweat glands than any other part of the body. Sweaty feet can cause an increase in bacteria that leads to foot odor.
Use a scrubbing brush to clean the toenails and feet as part of your daily cleansing routine. Toenails should also be kept short. After completely drying feet, apply powder to help absorb excess sweat.
Shoes and socks need to be changed daily because odor-causing bacteria continue to grow even after shoes and socks are removed. Stop the growth of bacteria by changing socks as often as needed and by never wearing the same shoes two days in a row. Thick, soft, natural fiber socks and leather and canvas shoes absorb sweat better than synthetic products. Mesh shoes are also good for keeping sweaty feet ventilated. Shoes need at least 24 hours to completely dry between each wearing.
During warm weather, wear open-toe shoes and sandals as much as possible. Use special antiperspirant spray for feet as an extra measure to control sweat.
