Tea tree oil, aspirin, witch hazel and hydrocortisone cream can all be used to quickly rid the body of razor bumps. Preventing razor bumps in the first place is much more effective than trying to get rid of them after they have already appeared.

To prevent razor bumps from occurring, it is vital to use proper shaving techniques. Allow the skin to soften under warm water before attempting to shave. Use a sharp razor and shaving cream every shave. Shaving cream helps moisturize the skin and prevent irritation. Shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize irritation. After shaving, rinse the shaved area with cold water to close up the pores. Shave every other day at most in order to give the skin a break, and apply a moisturizer to the skin daily.

Tea tree oil has antiseptic and antibacterial qualities that help it quickly clear up razor burn. Simply spray it on the affected area once or twice a day until the area has cleared up.

Aspirin can be crushed and mixed with a small amount of water to create a paste. Apply the paste to the razor bumps, and allow it to remain on the skin until dry. Rinse with warm water.

Witch hazel is an anti-inflammatory that is very effective at soothing irritated areas. The witch hazel can be applied to a cloth and blotted onto the razor bumps. Some find it beneficial to use witch hazel directly after shaving as a preventive measure.

A thin layer of hydrocortisone cream can take the redness away from razor bumps almost immediately after it is applied. Even though the bumps will still be there, they will be much less noticeable because the redness is subdued. It also helps with any itching that one is experiencing due to the bumps.
