To put a buckle on a belt, unsnap the buckle end of the belt, slide the end through the metal loop on the back of the buckle and snap the belt's end closed. Check to ensure the belt allows for interchangeable buckles, as some do not.
One of the easiest ways to change the look of an outfit is to change the belt buckle. The steps are simple, and all a person needs is a belt and a new buckle.
Step 1: Remove the old buckle
Belts that allow buckles to be changed have snaps on the buckle end. Unsnap these and slide off the old buckle.
Step 2: Attach the new buckle
Position both the belt and the new buckle face down. Slide the end of the belt through the metal loop that is on the back of the buckle. Secure the end by snapping the belt back into place.
Step 4: Check the positioning of the buckle
Turn the belt over and try it on. Check to be sure the buckle is facing right-side up and that it is facing outward. Try to buckle the belt to ensure it fits properly around the waist. If the fit is too loose or too tight, the buckle may have to be adjusted up or down on the length of the belt.
