It is possible to lighten skin tone using natural ingredients from the pantry such as citrus fruits and dairy, or to use skin lightening products sold over the counter. To lighten skin tone naturally, masks can be made out of common food items that are then applied to the skin for a period of time and rinsed off. To lighten skin naturally with milk:
Step 1: Prepare milk for a mask
Warm a bowl of milk.Then soak a washcloth in warm milk. Apply washcloth to face.
Step 2: Rub skin with cloth thoroughly
Repeat this process three to four times. Repeat daily for two weeks, then repeat every other day.
To lighten skin naturally with yogurt and lemon juice:
Step 1: Prepare ingredients for a mask
Mix 1 tablespoon of fresh yogurt with half a tablespoon of honey and a small amount of oatmeal and lemon juice.
Step 2: Apply mixture to face and neck
Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then wash off. The yogurt mask can also be made with ground, powdered orange peel instead of honey, oatmeal and lemon juice.
Skin lightening moisturizers should contain some amount of SPF, since the ingredients they contain can make skin more susceptible to sun damage.
