An easy way to make tanning lotion at home to is combine hot tea, lanolin and sesame oil. It takes about 20 minutes to make one batch. The supplies you need are boiling water, three black tea bags, a liquid measuring cup, a spoon, lanolin, sesame oil, a blender, a funnel and a clean, empty spray bottle.
- Brew the tea
Put three tea bags in a liquid measuring cup, and cover them with 3/4 cup boiling water. Set the cup in a safe place, and steep the bags for 15 minutes. Remove the bags with the spoon, and discard them.
- Blend the ingredients
Pour 1/4 cup of tea into a clean blender jar, then add 1/4 cup lanolin and 1/4 cup sesame oil. Cover the blender, and blend the ingredients for 10 seconds on the lowest setting. Stop the blender, uncover the jar, and add the rest of the tea. Replace the cover, and blend everything together for 10 seconds.
- Pour the lotion into a spray bottle
Remove the spray bottle's cap, and insert a funnel into its neck. Uncover the blender jar, and carefully pour the contents into the funnel. Remove the funnel, and cap the bottle tightly. Shake it thoroughly before each use, and store the bottle in the refrigerator.
