To fishtail braid your hair, divide your hair into two sections, and grab a piece of hair from the far side of one section. Then, thread it into the other section in an alternating pattern. This only takes a few minutes and requires two hands and a hair tie.
- Section your hair
Brush your hair, and divide it into the two sections that you want to fishtail. You can use as little or as much hair as you want as long as the two section are of equal size.
- Thread a piece of hair from the left section into the right section
Hold the two sections of hair in your hands. Pull a small piece of hair from the outside of the left section, and thread it over into the right section. Combine that piece of hair with the rest of the right section.
- Thread a piece of hair from the right section into the left section
Thread a piece of hair from the outside of the right section over and into the left section. Make sure to combine the new piece of hair with the rest of the left section.
- Repeat the process through the length of your hair
Repeat the process, alternating from right to left, throughout the length of your hair.
- Tie the end of your hair
Tie an elastic band at the end of your hair to keep the fishtail from unraveling.
