Rock & Republic jeans are sold exclusively at Kohl's locations as of 2014. Jared Hatch of Racked.com explains that the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was bought out by VF Corporation in 2012. According to the LA Times, VF Corporation owns several popular jeanswear brands, including Wrangler, Lee and 7 For All Mankind. VF Corporation and Kohl's divided design responsibilities between their manufacturing headquarters. VF Corporation is responsible for producing the brand's denim products, and Kohl's manages all the remaining aspects of the brand's offerings, which include fragrances, shoes, jewelry and accessories.
According to James Covert of the New York Post, Rock & Republic once sold its jeans at a price point of around $200. Kohl's now sells them at a discounted rate. There was some speculation at the time of Rock & Republic's bankruptcy case that the company's financial crisis was due in part to the founder's lavish lifestyle.
