Beauty marks are birthmarks or moles that appear on the face, neck and shoulders. Birthmarks are thought to be caused from the harmless overgrowth of blood vessels, while moles are generated from hyperpigmentation of the skin.
Beauty marks are not medically distinctive from birthmarks or moles. They are deemed to be beauty marks based on where they appear on the body and the fact they are considered to be attractive. Birthmarks develop before a human is born or shortly afterwards. Moles develop later in life. Some people may develop 10 to 40 moles over the course of their lives. Moles can appear raised or flat and come in different colors.
