Albinos can dye their hair; however, for a more complete look they will also need to dye their eyebrows and lashes. Many albinos choose to dye their hair a darker color to avoid the social stigma attached to albinism.
One well-publicized case of an albino who changed her hair color to avoid stigma was that of Angel Stillman. Having been transferred between several schools due to bullying, she added lowlights to her white hair, turning it a darker shade of blond, and dyed her eyebrows and lashes darker. Although many albinos frown upon such makeovers as a means of fitting in, for Stillman, the hair dye gave her the confidence to make friends.
