One version of the braided twist hairstyle looks like a braid that hugs the side of the head and ends in a messy bun at the nape of the neck. Some styles incorporate more than one braid at different levels on the sides of the head.
Braided twists are asymmetrical, which means that the braids run along only one half of the head. On the other side of the head, the hair is twisted around into a bun and secured with pins or clips. Longer hair can be left hanging down the back, while the ends of shorter can be tucked or twisted under the bun.
