After testing the hair, apply the color with an applicator bottle or applicator brush until the hair is fully saturated. Allow the color allow to develop fully (approximately 30 to 45 minutes) and rinse thoroughly until rinse water runs clear.
Hair color should be applied to unwashed, dry hair for maximum color saturation and retention.
Step 1: Perform a test
To ensure compatibility with the hair and skin, perform a patch test 48 hours prior to application. Prior to full coloring, also perform a hair strand test.
Step 2: Apply the hair color
Part dry hair into four equal sections. Divide one section into quarter-inch to half-inch segments, and apply the hair color thoroughly. Ensure the hair is completely saturated before moving on to the next section. For hair with damaged ends, apply the color to the top three-quarters of the strand first, allow it to develop for 15 minutes and then apply to the ends.
Step 3: Allow the color to develop
Let the hair color develop for 15 minutes, and then check for development. Continue to develop for another 15 to 30 minutes until full desired color saturation is achieved.
Step 4: Rinse
Spritz the hair lightly with warm water and bring to a lather over the sink. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo until the rinse water runs clear.
