One simple jalapeño cream cheese dip is the recipe by Great Grub, Delicious Treats. The appetizer makes eight to 10 servings and includes a total prep and cook time of approximately 20 minutes.
To prepare the recipe, mix 16 ounces of cream cheese, two 4-ounce cans of diced green chillies, one 4-ounce can of diced jalapeños, 3 cups of grated pepper jack cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is creamy. Place the dip in a microwavable glass dish, and microwave it on high for 5 to 6 minutes or until the edges are bubbling and the center is hot. If the center is still cool, place the dish back in the microwave for 30-second intervals until it reaches the desired temperature.
Garnish the prepared dip with sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions and shredded Cheddar cheese, and serve it alongside a bowl or platter of tortilla chips. The dip is somewhat spicy, so cut back on the chilis and jalapeños for a milder dip. You can also add panko bread crumbs to add some extra crunch or use pieces of sweet red and yellow pepper in place of tortilla chips for dipping. For some extra flavor, add crumbled bacon to top the dip.
