The Bermuda Triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean that is known for its high occurrence of airplane and boat disappearances. However, official sources such as the U.S. Navy have debunked the idea that such an area actually exists. The area's name derives from its supposed triangular nature, the top point of which is marked by the island of Bermuda.
The other two points on this imagined triangle are marked by the island of Puerto Rico and the U.S. state of Florida. Popular explanations for this assumed phenomenon include natural phenomena such as the Gulf Stream, paranormal and extraterrestrial activity, magnetic disturbances and space-time abnormalities.
