Some recipes for easy-to-make finger appetizers include Goat Cheese Pecan Finger Sandwiches, Cucumber and Cream Cheese Appetizers and Festive Crab Cakes. These recipes require five to 25 minutes to prepare and make 10 to 15 servings.
To make Goat Cheese Pecan Finger Sandwiches, spread 1/3 cup of red pepper jelly on 7 slices of bread. Combine 4 ounces of softened goat cheese, 3 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup finely chopped, toasted pecans and 2 tablespoons of chopped, fresh parsley. Spread the mixture on 7 slices of bread and pair each slice with a jelly-covered slice. Remove the crusts, and cut each sandwich to the desired shape.
For Cucumber and Cream Cheese Appetizers, wash and slice a seedless, European cucumber. Combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, a 5/8 ounce package of Italian seasoning mix and a dash of Tabasco sauce. Spread this mixture on slices of rye cocktail bread, top each piece of bread with a cucumber slice, and sprinkle dill over the top.
To make Festive Crab Cakes, combine 1/3 cup softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons green onion and 1/4 cup drained, flaked crab meat with the cartilage removed. Place frozen, miniature, phyllo tart shells from a 1.9-ounce package onto an ungreased baking sheet, fill each with 1 tablespoon of the crab mixture, and top each with 1 teaspoon whole-berry cranberry sauce. Bake the tarts at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes.
