The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, forklift online test refers to a sample performance test available on the OSHA.gov website. Employers and inspectors use the sample test to evaluate employees on their use and handling of a forklift.
The test outlines 22 separate performance evaluations, including being familiar with truck controls, giving proper signals when turning, keeping a clear view of direction of travel, approaching and lifting load properly and maneuvering effectively. Equipment operators can use the sample test as a list to assist them in preparing for evaluations, or evaluators can print the test and use it when giving the actual assessment. The OSHA.gov website contains a number of training materials under the powered industrial trucks resource section.
